Thumbs up Great site! and G2choke when uphill

Hi Guys - new here but this is a GREAT site for research and advice..

Thanks to this site:
  • I got through my lift installion
  • discovered my torque cable was very loose (fixed)
  • found a broken rear mount (not fixed yet)
  • my air filter straps are broken and suspect the system is leaky (next on my list)
  • decided on a paint system and going to shoot myself (I have some experience with this years ago)
  • found out some parts and part sites are better than others

I cleaned my spark plug and rediscovered busted knuckles all on my own :o

now I have a question - I know it's pretty normal to have to choke a cold engine but I suspect I could need some adjusting somewhere...I also have to choke when going up a steep hill - (smooth sidewalk, not bumpy) the engine just sputters a bit and you have to pump the pedal - comes back fine when you pull the choke out..

wondering if this is a carb adjustment or if my air filter system could be the problem...I could have probably searched for the answer here but wanted to shout out to you guys what a great site you have! I rebuilt a T-Bird back in '84 but have probably forgotten more than I have learned since then so I need the help!

Welcome to the non sence G2Crazy! I suspect that your problem is the air box not sealing properly.
That said, I'm one of the least expirienced here and simply have a happy of regurgitating what I read.
I'm pretty confident that if you get the air box sealed properly, you'll notice a significant performance improvement

Good luck and keep the pics coming

LMAO!

no worries!

I sealed up the box and WOW noticed a huge improvement - hauled a lot of weight yesterday up a steep hill and the cart didn't sputter once!

I haven't measured the speed yet but between the airbox, the lift, Mike Mac's advice on checking that little torque cable there is definitely more speed and power.

thanks!
