Default Battery meter came, no wiring, help!

Hey guys, I picked up a battery meter on ebay, the needle type, and it came without wiring or instructions. There's only a positive and negative post on the meter, nothing gets wired to the ignition switch. I was wondering what gauge wire should be used when wiring it up to the batteries and do I need a fuse? Thanks in advance!!

It's only a meter and draws almost no power so 14 ga wire is fine. All things connected to a battery should be fused close to the battery.
The wiring should be on the switched portion of your ignition switch (36v or 48v positive) and the negative post on your battery pack.
Don't just wire it up, check with a meter to confirm your connection points

One more thing.... usually those things are polarity sensitive. So look real close to see if the terminals are marked positive and negative.

Are you saying wire the positive post of the meter to the ignition switch? Where would the fuse go in this case? Thanks!

The fuse generally would go between the meter and the switch on the positive side.
