In my opinion your better off with a second battery. The RXV are sensitive to voltage drops. And there's plenty of room under the drivers seat.

Re: 08 rxv have stock voltage reducer?
I run accessories off of mine by running positive and negative wires off of 1 battery. I don't ground to frame to eliminate a possible issue. I like to use a battery in the middle of the pack the second or third battery. It has worked for me so far. If I was to run something that draws lots of power like an amp I would then look into a voltage reducer. Have had one RXV for 6 months with this set up and works fine and all batteries test good on voltmeter. Second cart is 2 months old and it works and tests fine as well.
