Talking Yamaha G9-Grinding noise left rear

My left rear wheel makes grab and release sound when I am driving. I pulled the rear brake drum and backed of the shoes in case they were dragging. This didn't help. the shoes were wearing a little uneven but had plenty of shoe left.
Could it be a wheel bearing? Do they wear out very often?

I am very unhappy with this cart when it is at full excelleration. Something is keeping it from running smooth and I don't think it is the motor.

It could be that your shifter cables are either out of adjustement or sticking and causing it not to go all the way into drive gear. Check the lever on the front side of the transaxle where your shifter cables go. Make sure it is moving back and forth all the way. You may need to either spray the crap out them with a penetrating oil or adjust them (10mm).

Could it be your gears in the rear end? I didnt have my shift cables adjusted properly and I ruined the gears in my rear end. It still drives and everything, but it howls and grinds and you can tell that its not smooth. Hope this helps.

Let's hope he can catch it before this happens.

Jim, If it were me, I would do a through maintanance program on that car. Read this entire yamaha site, read the owners manual for your car from the sticky above. Also read the owners for a G11 from the sticky above, (more info than regular manual).

Look to see if there is a brake spring broken, or the auto adjuster is broken. Clean every thing up in there, then lube moving parts with dry lube and reassemble. Correctly! Do one side at a time, so you have the good side to copy for reassembly.

There shouldn't be a gap in the gears. They should mesh when ingaged.
