There is a switch underneath the gas pedal that sometimes sticks or in my case the pedal didn't come back far enough the disengage the switch. Also if the black/ white wire is disconnected from the control unit or gas pedal switch it will allow the engine to idle.

ok i will have to check the black/white wire. but if it were disconnected would i be able to shut it off with the key still..?because the key will shut it off, wasn't sure if they were linked or split or what not . but yea mine will set their and idle till i shut the key off

Yes, the key will still shut it off in either instance. The black/white wire is easy to check. The pedal switch on mine I have to crawl underneath due to having a solid floorboard, but it's easy to find.
