Re: Motor swap g9 in a g14
Lesse...the long blocks are the same, so you should be able to swap the flywheels OK so the rotor/ pickup coil is correct for timing, and just use the G14 ignitor, wire harness and coil and you should be good to go.
Thanks go to Reverend Dave for the info....see his stickie in Gas Yamaha..... http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-y...g9-g8-g14.html |

Well, I'm guessing you still have the wiring harness intact, remove the shrouds, get backup on the crank and use an impact on the flywheel nut... really should be very easy.

Re: Motor swap g9 in a g14
Ya I was gonna big block it and got half way there but time and funds no longer will allow so I'm gonna trade my 18 HP briggs for another motor that will slide right in. All of the wires are still intact.
So change over the flywheel and use my coil pack and what is the igniter? Also is there a certain way the flywheel has to put on for timing? |
