Re: Off set Rims?
Hey Confused....here's what I know....
For the G1 you want an offset because it will make the cart wider and handle better. Usually an atv rim will have the offset you need. Spacers will give you extra width but not a different bolt pattern. To run a different pattern wheel you will need a spacer/adapter, which are available. You can use any rim that uses the 4 on 4 spacing. That's 4 lugs spaced 4" apart center to center. Most golf carts use this same spacing. Some atv's use this spacing. I got my rear tires/rims off a Polaris Scrambler rear. Here's a link to a wheel guide for atv's http://www.mudthrowers.com/atv_wheel_chart Good luck. |

Re: Off set Rims?
I'm running stock polaris scrambler front tires on new rims with the 4 on 4 pattern. I like skinnier tires in front, just because I used to run atv's and that's how they are all set up. Seems like you'd get better steering but it probably doesn't matter all that much, maybe just more for looks.

Re: Off set Rims?
Also if you get 8" wheels you have to get ones that are dished out in the rear to clear the brake drums, not an issue with 10"or larger. I think polaris rears are the only ATV ones 4/4 pattern but could be wrong.
I wonder about skinny fronts. I got all the same so I could rotate them. I wanted 22x11 for floatation on sand, and they work great for that. Also wanted that monster truck look. They do use narrow tires on the front of UTV I've looked at, and sure they would work fine on a cart since there is little weight on the front. |
