g1 muffler
just rebuilt my 81 g1 motor,top and bottom. when i was taking engine apart i pulled the muffler off and peices of metal was in the muffler,beleive it was from the broke piston any suggestion on how i can be sure i got it all out. i have everything ready to go waiting on muffler issue.

It could be just parts of the muffler. Those old mufflers after a while will break apart inside. I'd just shake everything out I could and reinstall it as long as nothing else would enter the engine area.

You can cut them open and clean them out, there is a post here someplace with photos of them but I don't know where. It will not matter long as a piece does not get stuck in the tailpipe outlet. Plowmans has new ones but they are not free.
