Re: 1998 48 volt regen club car

Re: 1998 48 volt regen club car
OK, finally got to get them voltages off the 4 posts on the motor, I'm goint to take a guess that something is seriously screwed up, heres what i got:
A1: jumping between 48 and 49 volts, thats with key on/off and in F/R A2: 49 Volts with key off 50 Volts with key on 43 Volts at full throttle F1: 0 volts full speed in Reverse 15 Volts no throttle in reverse F2: o volts full speed Forward 15 Volts no throttle in forward ** just a little side note, i drove the cart maybe 50 feet to get to the garage, and when i went to check the voltages the motor was hot to the touch |

Re: 1998 48 volt regen club car
If the motor was hot to the touch only after 50 feet then something is definately wrong . How hot is hot? ..I have never seen a motor get hot that quick. Do you have another motor you can swap out? Those numbers for your feild dont look right to me....but then again its a regen and I really dont know much about those motors and controllers. I would think that it should have NO POWER going to the feild at 0 throttle. To me it would seem if you have power going to those terminals on the motor at 0 throttle the controller/solenoid is bad.

Re: 1998 48 volt regen club car
i'll try to explain the motors temp, it wasnt like hot that it could fry an egg or anything, but i wouldnt wanna keep my hand on it for mare than maybe 10 secs, and no, i dont have any motors to do a swap. if i can find a selonoid (i've think we got one round here somewhere) i'll swap the regan one out and see if it does anything.

The voltages are too high (and reverse) on F1 & F2, (& A2) compared to the voltages that I gave you from mine!!!! Try to find the soleniod and swap that out first!! (something tells me your contoller is on the fritz!) Your motor sounds fine, it's just getting the wrong voltages... DON'T DRIVE IT!!! (or you'll have to get a contoller & a motor!!!) Quote:

Hey Lockman....does your golf cart still have regen braking or did you disable it?
