Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
I am scaring myself today. Just when I thought I understood...
The 36v powers the converter, the converter powers the fuse block. I have the stereo wire, if it goes to the fuse block it is on all the time correct? Same with the headlights, taillights and coverter. Ok so I want to put them through a toggle switch so I can turn them on individually. I have one toggle switch installed in the cart that was wired to the toggle and the + on one battery for the lights and the stereo. I have removed the wiring from the battery and toggle. I'm trying to figure out how I am getting power from the toggle to the fuse block? Do I plug the stereo into the toggle and then make a second connection comming out of the toggle to the fuse block? And would that be a positive connection? and then the same for the converter and lights? In my stupid brain it sounds like I need 3 toggles? 1 for the converter (should it only be on when I use the accessories or when the pack is charging so it charges them all evenly?) 1 for the stereo 1 for the head and led tail lights. I so had this down until i figured out that the converter and accessories would be on all the time so decided on toggles and fuse block. I am such a NEWBIE! |

Re: Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
just a side question.. does your stereo require memory power, for clock and settings?

Re: Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
separating the stereo from the lights with separate toggles run from the fuse block should be the easy part. I hope someone else chimes in for toggle advice on converter, 36v. can melt some switches..

Re: Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
The toggle on the converter has never worked for me,welds switch closed, better then open.I just finished one where I set up 2 bus bars ,one 12 volt positive the other 12v negitive both from the converter, from there just run your pos and neg from each accessory to the bus bars.Radio, lights all should have on/off switching. One thing,I did use a converter that is key operated, but that is the most costly way to go.Hope this helps Dave

Re: Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
Thank you so much! Still have a question. When I bought the cart the lights were run directly to the battery and a toggle with no neg. Can I still run the lights through the toggle/fuse block since there is no neg or on/off. If so back to my original question how do I use a toggle with a fuse block?

Re: Question about Converter/fuse block wiring
Look again there has to be a negitive or they wouldn't work, negitive may be run to each light, yes the toggle will work with the fuse block because you are just switching the positive..on/off.Dave
