Re: Club Car Gas Engine Tach
I had the NGK splice on-hand in case I needed it when I did my tach. I ended up doing the notched cable sleeve and it worked fine. I used clear vinyl tubing. Make sure that the pick-up is pointed the correct way, and that the notches in the sleeve line up with the magnets. I was surprised it worked with so little plug wire exposed. I did have to cut, remove and modify the plug boot to fit.

Re: Club Car Gas Engine Tach
I saw that post and it said it was a 7mm wire. I have the post bookmarked.

Re: Club Car Gas Engine Tach
What size clear tubing did you use? And you did not cut the plug wire?

Re: Club Car Gas Engine Tach
The plug wire is 7mm, and I used 1/4" tubing. I sliced it lengthwise so it would fit over the plug, and cut 2 notches in it. No, I didn't cut the plug wire. This pic isn't mine--it's from the other tach thread, but the tubing looks the same. There is another notch on the opposite side, and they line up with the pick-up.

Re: Club Car Gas Engine Tach
See my attached picture is this what we are talking about. Another post said to have the cut out against the flat part of the pick up and that did not work. Just checking. This has been a pain in the A@# to get to work. Thanks in advance for you help I sure hope this works.
