Backfiring cart
I have a 2005 President Club Car, when this cart comes to a stop it will backfire sometimes very loud. What could cause this and how can I fix it?

possible carb butterfly not closing all the way. Sounds like you may just need some minor adjustments.

The backfire is likely happening on the exhaust side. Unburned fuel is being ignited by heat. It can be caused by running the engine too lean, too rich or timing that's too advanced. You would have mentioned it if you were messing with the timing (I assume) so it's probably a fuel problem. Checking your spark plugs can help diagnose whether it's running lean or rich. Lots of them out there but here's one site that's pretty good.
