Re: 95 club car throttle response
IF you have a 1995 club car with a V-glide it is a 36 volt cart and the Vglide is neither 0-5k or 5-0k. Your system is a resistor coil speed control and does not use an Ω signal.
The 48v carts of 1995 used a 0-5k potentiometer (this year only) |

Re: 95 club car throttle response
ok, the motor gave way on this cart and I plan to put a stock 48 volt motor that I have laying around. the cart is lifted and have 10" tires, what speed controller do I use. the cart has a standard Curtis 36/48 volt controller in it. I want to put a higher amp controller in this cart, but now I am confused about the throttle response

Re: 95 club car throttle response
You need to check if You have a 2-wire or a 3-wire Multi Step Potentiometer.
Since there are 2 wires for the micro-switch, there will either be 4 wires or 5 wires total coming out of the VGlide (Multi Step Potentiometer). The 2-wire was always a 0-5kΩ Rheostat, but since everything is wired with bolts and nuts, You can move 1 wire and make it a 5kΩ-0, or add 1 wire and make it a 3-wire 0v-5v throttle. The only issue is that the resistor values used do not provide a linear resistance change. This is done so You have less resistance change at beginning of the pedal travel in order to have more granular control of speed. The 3-wire Multi Step Potentiometer can be used for all 3 types of throttle, although the possible low speed warning still applies if used in a different manner as it was designed for. The good news is that You can easily move the resistors around if needed. |
