Be sure to fully charge the batteries before first using them and then break them in properly to get the maximum storage capacity.
The initial charge may take 12 hours or more.

Here is how to break them in: http://www.cartsunlimited.net/Batter...n_Methods.html
While on the website, read everything with the word "Battery" in the title.
Tons of good information.

Super-start is a poor name for a golf cart battery. Starting batteries and golf cart deep discharge batteries are 2 different animals... the name superstart implies a cranking battery. I would make sure it is not a starting battery but a deep discharge unit.

Super Start model number is GC110DT. Looks good to me, but I agree the name is misleading.

The name scares me too, but here is what the part number says it is.

That's them. On sale for $110. Dumb question. Can I install the batteries and if the cart will go load it in my truck. Might need to move the cart 30 yards to do this or do I have to fully charge before moving the cart a foot. Tks

I just installed new Trojans in my cart. Total price was 714.00. You might want to check around before buying. You may save a few bucks today, but in 3 years when you're buying new batteries again, well.....not so much of a savings.

I asked on here about it myself. Trojan, crown and interstate came up over and over again. I like to save a buck just like the next guy, but I can't tell you how may times I have kicked myself for not going with the proven product!

It would be best not to move the cart at all, but a short drive won't kill the batteries.
If practical, put them on charge half an hour or so and then load it.

I subscribe to the same basic theory, but if the GC110DT batteries at O'Reilly Auto Parts are truly made by East Penn (Deka), then they are up there with Crown, Exide, Trojan and US Battery.

The things to look for in buying cart batteries is the Amp-Hour rating at the 20 Hour rate and the weight.

The higher the AH rating, the longer it will last.
If the AH are the same, the heavier battery will most likely outlast the lighter one.

It is true that most "Bargain" batteries are low AH batteries, but there may be some roses amongst the thorns, so ask what the AH @ 20 Hr rating is and if you can't get a straight answer, hit the door.
If it is much below 225AH, it probably isn't all that much of a bargain.

In this case, the battery has a 230AH rating and is supposedly made by a reputable company, so it may very well be a good deal, but only time will tell.

Have been charging the low battery. Came home at lunch and started at 10% battery strength and up to 75% now. Hooked the battery back p to the pack just to see if the cart would move and nothing. Still get a little clicking from the solenoid box. I am going to buy the batteries today but am fearful my issue may be something else. All other batteries were 6.4 and this one was 4.6. Tks

That low battery may show 4.6v sitting still, but it way be dropping out entirely when under any load.
