Tough to awnser. I beleive the Yamaha diff (G2/G9/G is very stout, but the one peice axle splines are the weak point. I would suggest you spend some time in the "bigblock section", in the the "bike engine build" section. Rifters is/was (I only say that because he recently sold it) the fastest/safest I've ever seen (he used a straight axle system) and he is always willing to share his knowledge on a new build. I...went another direction, but mines not finished so I'm no expert. Good luck on your project/build...make it safe/stop and fast and have fun

I would say no. Depending on the year of the bike, they are at least 100hp and the G9 rearend is just not made for that kind of power.

maaaaaaan i dont want to hear that lol. i guess since it was just 200$ i can afford to scatter it so ill be the test dummy on the strength of the g9 rear and report back. i actually have 2 of them so i think im gonna sacrifice one. thanks for the info tho.

If you have the GSXR gearbox, why not go straight axle on the rear?

Don't have a lot of room for a swing arm. I'm using leaf springs
