Amen to that. Im like you only time i can gt some r and r is early in the morning before the wife and kids get up. I like to just sit on the back porch and watch the deer while i drink coffee or whatever else is handy. Take your time and do a neat job running and securing all wiring. Ive seen some vehicles around and about where there wiring looks like a rat nest with a fire just waiting to happen. The larger fuse in between the fuse holder and battery is a safety incase the positive wire rubs through and causes a short. Never can be too safe when it comes to wiring even if it is a mere 12volts.

I found this for a few bucks at a yard sale. It was brand new in the box. I just wish it had the negative post built in to make wiring easier. I can still make it work but could only use 3 fuses on one side and take all the fuses out on the other side and make jumpers to connect the 3 terminals together for a negative side. Wouldnt look pretty but would do the job.

i'd just wire the grounds to a grounding block and leave that box alone .. you never know when you will need LEDs ..LOL

That looks looks like my I got with the negative bus side. I bet I paid a lot more for it. You got to love yard sales. Just buy a negative bus. I don't do much wiring but I'm learning fast.

Mount the fuse block with a stud and use that as a ground post.

I pick up my ground from the ground lug on the end of the starter. I get the positive from the large stud of the solenoid on the battery side. Makes for a clean install, without wires hanging all over the battery.
