CC Carryall 6 Project
This is my overall plan. I have a 99 carryall 6 that needs new batteries. When I load it down with junk, it makes it hard to check the batteries on a regular basis because I don't want to unload everything to lift the hatch on the bed.:) I'm gonna install a watering system to at least feed the batteries a little water every few months when I don't have time to check them correctly. I also want to install a batteryminder that keeps the batteries desulfated. I may even try the batteryminder on the old batteries to see if it will breath a little life into them before I plunk down the $850 for 6 new 8 volts batteries. I am also going to install 2 gauge soldered wires throughout. After i get it up and running right, I want to lift it and add larger tires and wheels.( It's hard to find pics of lifted carryall 6"s) MY carryall has drum brakes. I OK with the drums, but is this going to limit my selection of lifts? And I don't know whether to use the 6" lift of one of the long travel kits. And maybe add a controller. I'll have to look more into that because I don't know if I have a resistor type or not. Any ideas or comments appreciated.
Thanks, JD |
