IIRC, doesn't BU sell some sort of "high step V-Glide bypass" or some nonsense like that to make the cart run faster at full throttle? I'm thinking maybe that's what you're looking at there?

93Yellow, BU sells (or did) a V-glide "By Pass" for the high speed position, using a solenoid to drop the V-glide out of the circuit. I do not think it increases the overall speed. I have it wired up, but am waiting on a new battery pack, hopefully this weekend, just need the time! I'll report back when I get it up and running.

BU does sell a V-Glide By-pass. It only works in full thottle and will by pass the 6 ga. wire inside the V-Glide

That thing hooked to the field terminals is so-called "overdrive". Usually it has a small resistor coil in the circuit. It gives slightly higher top speed at the trade-off of low end torque. They are usually used with a switch to activate only at full throttle. It gives higher speed by way of the "field weakening effect". It is somewhat similar to the theory used to extract more speed out of a "sepex" motor.
