1996 g14 slipping?
I got a 1996 G14 electric 36 volt. This morning I took it out for a ride after changing the battery cables. Figured I would clean the terminals and replace the cables.
So I pushed the petal to the floor and it felt like the rear left tire slipped then started to go fine. I think I noticed this about 2 weeks ago also. So I put it on a small slope and put the petal to the floor again and it jerked back and forth then started going. It feels like it is slipping somehow in the rear end? Can anyone shoot me in the right direction or if anyone has had this problem let me know. The batteries are all new also. |

I figured it out!! The forward/reverse switch was wore out. It worked if it was in a certain spot, so I went and changed it anyway and now works perfect.

I dont get it. How does a bad F&R that is doing absolutely nothing when it is in fail mode feel like "slipping"?

Re: 1996 g14 slipping?
My 01 G19 FnR switch went out and I replaced it. It also seemed to slip. I disconnected the cables and put electrical grease on them and the slipping stopped. Just a bad connection.

Re: 1996 g14 slipping?
What I found out is that someone had put a home made stop to keep the handle in a certian position in forward. After some time of moving from forward to reverse over and over the stop started to rotate and let the handle move to far. I adjusted it back and it quit making the slip. So I bought a new switch, got rid of the stop and works great now.
I guess there is a certian spot it has to be in to work properly. I could have made a better stop and lived with it, but I just went and bought a new switch. |
