Default yamaha G9 Voltage regulator problem

Hello, new member here thanks for any help you can give me. i have a yamaha G9 that someone hacked the wiring and removed the Voltage regulator i have 3 wires red green and black going to a white 3 pin connector that doesn't look right, i read there should be a brown somewhere , on further inspection i found a brown spliced into a red, trying to figure out what to do , do i tap the brown and ad it to a new 4 pin regulator? very confused Bob
