Default 50$ melex, auction find, need some help

Hey guys picked up a (don't know year) melex from an auction for 50$!
Well looking at it seemed to be seized up flywheel was unbolted and drive belt was removed but for 50$ figured I couldn't go wrong

So after getting it home realized the motor wasn't seized up I cleaned the coil and the flywheel up and it turned over and had spark, they cleaned the carb and it sits there and runs! Has the 9hp Briggs btw

So my first issue is, it wil only start when jumping the selonoid, so what sends power to selonoid? Is it the switch next to fuel tank? Thanks

I'm not at all familiar with Melex. but most golf carts have a switch on the pedal that starts the engine when you step on the pedal, and shuts the engine off when you take your foot off the pedal.

Until better help arrives, you might consider checking this switch.

Some of the early Melex were kind of Polish EZGO clones. The Briggs engine probably wasn't original, but who cares if it runs. You might poke around the EZGO Gas Tech stickys and see if your wiring is anything close.
