Default Little help on wiring

I am trying to rebuild an ezgo cart. I am putting a 1204 controller and related items into a cart that has nothing at this time. I discovered that the power peddle is not connected to anything in the back. It looks like a rod was removed which would extend back to the rear. Does anyone have a picture of how the peddle was or should be connected to a pot. I was thinking of installing this connection just under the floor boards and running wires back, but think this is just asking for problems. I do not know if this cart was a resistance cart or a more advanced model. I have a controller, solenoid f/r control and a power plug. A picture of how the electronics were installed on this type of cart would be of great help
Thanks
Bruce

It might depend on the motor you have... i don't know if you have an older motor that you can run the later controllers etc. with. does it have a box for an ITS? (this would be under the floor board)

Knowing the year of the cart will determine the throttle type. Most EZGO carts from 95 and newer utilized an ITS. Prior to that, a 0-5k pot.

Thanks for the info. There is no electronics in the cart at this time. I have what I think is the original motor which I am installing. The controller and selenoid were given to me. A local shop is going to look up the controller and tell me what I need to add. They think a pot 0-5 will be the answer, but they are not sure. I will post what the final result turns out to be. I hope to get the answer over christmas break. I am a school teacher and have little time to work on the cart except for school breaks.

Is there no manufacturing tag on the cart? The serial number and mfg. number will provide a date of manufacture and can reveal a lot of information on original configuration.
