engine wont fire unless I spritz gas thru the choke

Hi folks. i have an older 80's model EZGO (gas) that I putter around on.
This spring she wont fire unless I spray a little gas thru the carb.
I changed plugs, cleaned carb (twice!).
If i spray gas or carb cleaner in she fires right up, but will not continue to run.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Have you checked the fuel filter. Also i would start by checking to see if the fuel pump is working. When you took the carb off to clean it was there gas in it??

I apologize for not telling more of what I have done!
yes, the fuel pump is pumping. I can that the gas line line off at the carb and it is pumping well, and the bowl on the carb fills up.
fresh gas too....

Did you pull the carb and clean it or just spray it? Is the air box and filter on?

Sounds like there's a plugged jet in your carb.
Be SURE you have a good gasket between the carb and the head. (carb and cyl. on 2 cycle) air at this point will prevent fuel from being drawn into the cylinder or head.
Other than that??..........vacuum line and fuel lines??
If you don't have an in-line fuel filter, install one, if you do, replace it.

i have not put the filter and air box back on. i did not think that would have any effect on ignition..

i sprayed the heck out of carb cleaner thru the carb. pulled the needle valve out of the carb and sprayed cleaner. it seems clean. does not seem like there is much more to break down on it. any suggestions?
by the way, where is the vacuum line?

My carts fuel pump has three lines to it. one of those runs back to the motor to pickup vacuum to operate the pump. The other 2 lines are in - out for fuel. I dont think ours are the same, mine is a 99!

yes mine does too. the fule pump seems to work well. there is gas pumping to the carb and the bowl on the carb fill up.
