Default HEI Mod, Cold Air Intake, New Muffler and now have Issue

I did the HEI Mod, Cold Air Intake and New Muffler and now have a issue. The cart didn't have this issue before I did the Mods. What is happening is the cart runs great I can race up and down the rode and it just fly's right along. It appers to act up on the large hills when I go up them, It boggs right down and can only give it a little gas and it crawls up them at a slower than walking pace.. It also has a ticking sound under the seat when it acts up. It acts like it runs fine and then gets hot and boggs out. I let it sit a bit and can go flying around again. The hills might just be a coincadince as it has done it after driving around without going up hills.
I sanded the paint of were I mounted the module and used dialtic grease and grounded it to the frame with a batt cable as well. I ground the tabs off the module as well. It sure seems like something is getting hot or a bad ground but I just don't think so. I'm stumped any idea's of what to try..

Should let all know its and 84 Ezgo..

sounds like its running lean. Anytime you add to its ability to move air in and out you'll get a lean condition unless you jet accordingly. I bet if you put the old filter box back on it will run better. (unless its clogged all to crap)

Right on Roady air box yes. 2 cycle doesn't like open air unless jetted for the air and don't like exhaust tampered with unless rejetting the carb. My thought everyone wants to create a monster. Speed cost $$$$ how fast you want to go
