Default 99 TXT DCS intermittent no go

Hey all! Newb to the golf cart world here. I have a 99 TXT with the DCS system.

Today we took it to the golf course. Got it off the trailer just fine, pulled up alongside the truck to load the bags, etc.. for the round and when we went to leave, it didn't move. I recently installed a gauge I got from one of the sponsors here and noticed it did not move either, like it does normally when you step on the accelerator. I put it in Reverse and got the alarm but no movement. Of course, no tools to work on it with, so no way to check anything. After a couple of minutes, it suddenly started working. We went ahead and hit the course. After a couple of holes, it refused to move again for about a minute, then took off again like nothing was wrong. We finished the round with no more episodes and got back to the truck. According to the gauge, I was still ok on electric power (its the analog version and was not going into the red even on steep hills). After unloading the gear, same problem but again, it began moving after a minute or so. Loaded the cart back on the trailer and came home. Same issue, same minute or so and it worked fine. Even though it has not repeated this again, I have to suspect this problem will rear it's head again and get worse, so I need to figure out what the deal is. Any suggestions on where to start?

Sorry for the long post.
Thanks!
Chuck

Start by making sure all connections are tight on all the batteries, motor, controller, and solenoid.
