Default Can you charge cart in tow postion?

I split time between Fla. and NY. I have someone charge my cart monthly. Can I put cart in tow position, to save draining the battery, and still have him charge cart? 48v batteries.

You have posted this in the GAS section for EZGO. You will likely get a better reply in the ELECTRIC section. Welcome aboard and Best of luck!

It depends on the make of your cart and how your charger is hooked up. On most carts the charger is hooked straight to the batteries, so the tow switch would not affect charging. You can test it out if you have a multimeter by reading voltage before and after plugging in your charger with the tow switch off. Otherwise I would just buy a heavy duty wall timer and have it come on once or twice a month, and be sure you have sufficient water in your batteries before you leave if they are of the flooded type, so you are not charging dry batteries when you return. And don't over fill them either or you will have battery acid coming out all over your tray
