Just my .02....
Be careful taking tire size dimensions from what they say as truth. I've found many tires will vary greatly in size once they are actually mounted and inflated.
Best is to measure actual height yourself, if possible.
I also think that only having a 1" clearance might be too close. A pot hole or bump might cause roof of cart to contact roof of trailer?...or maybe your just talking about door frame and not inside trailer ceiling height.

Before I installed my pipe roll cage, I made the existing top a removable top. I cut the existing supports, inserted a piece of metal into the pipe, then drilled thru it and just bolted it on with a nut that has the plastic inside so it won't back out. (Yeah....that's the technical name for those nuts! ) Now....this required me to bolt and unbolt when I wanted the top removed.....but that wasn't a big deal. You may be able to get away with a push pin....as long as that doesn't create an unwanted squeak.

Here's a few pics as they are worth more than I can type:

I believe we used 3/4 gas pipe like you find at big box stores.
I hope this helps.
Yes that helps.

Last question, did you simply take a reciprocal saw to it, or take it all apart and make clean cuts on a chop saw?

Lazy me wants to just hit it with the reciprocal saw, just know it won’t be as precise...

if you clamp a 2"angle iron or box tubing ,perpendicular to the upright and put blade flat down on it while cutting through , you'll be pretty close ..and a new blade is always good for staying straight ...and of course you will need some Skill

Just put a hose clamp on the pipe you want to cut. The edge of the hose clamp will help keep your cut stright

One last question, what y’all do about the windshield?

If I lower it 1-2” the window won’t be able to flip up...

There are several threads here, and youtube videos on hinging your roof. Here is just one.

This is a how to on doing it. I think a U channel instead of flat straps would be stronger.

You would need to cut the top half all the way across. That wouldn't seem to be to difficult if you secured the windshield and then "C" clamped a guide board. Then use a carbide blade in a circular saw. Protective eyewear and a mask would be preferred.

I've used a cut off wheel to cut them before more of a burn than a cut but it works well
