Ok so if I put it in F and it goes forward then it's all good right? If It was still a CCW rear end and a CW motor wouldn't it go backwards in F position?

yes, if:

motor is CW and trans is CW then F=F and R=R
motor is CCW and trans is CCW then F=F and R=R
motor is CCW and trans is CW then F=R and R=F
motor is CW and trans is CCW then F=R and R=F

I figured as much, just having a hard time believing that the drivetrain got swapped out and the motor got replaced all with corresponding parts.. haha guess I just got lucky for once! Best $300 bucks I've spent in a long time.

Thanx for all the help guys I'll post up a few pics when she gets a lol prettier

I don't find it hard to believe that the entire powertrain could have been swapped. Changing out a 1984-1991 flathead motor to an FE290/350 is not a direct, bolt-in swap from what I hear. Mounting the newer FE motor on to the older cart's stock engine cradle requires a bit of modification. My guess is that the previous owner had two carts in front of him and decided it would be easier to swap out the entire drivetrain (including the engine cradle) than retrofit the new motor to the original engine cradle. But he was apparently not aware of the engine rotation configuration if he wired the starter to run CCW.

If you post a pic of the rear transaxle so we can see the case design we can tell you in 3 seconds which direction it was designed to spin and if it's original to the cart or not.

Glad to hear that it's up and running!

i would prefer to do a complete rear end swap, motor, trans, cradle if it was most practical. may look into that when i decide to upgrade, if i do so :)
