No Spark Gas Club Car
Have a 94 gas Club Car I bought new. About 2 months ago wouldn't start, no spark. Did some research and replaced the igniter, still no spark. Did some more research and disconnected the ground wire on RPM limiter, started and ran for 2 months. Yesterday would not start again, no spark. Replaced the igniter with the one that was running a couple months ago, no spark. Completely removed the RPM limiter, still no spark. Where do I go from here????

Re: No Spark Gas Club Car
Follow the ground path.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/attac...swiringje9.jpg There is the small wire off the coil that goes to a junction with the RPM limiter, The combined wire continues through the bullet connector on the white/black wire that runs up the passenger side of the engine and into the wire bundle that goes around the starter/generator. That wire leads to the lower micro switch in the black control box then joins on to a ground lead coming off the voltage regulator. Just as a test disconnect the bullet connector on that white/black wire (connector will be next to the oil fill tube) and see if it has spark then. WARNING: with that wire disconnected even the key switch won't shut down the ignition, but releasing the gas pedal should close off the carb butterfly enough to kill the engine. |

Re: No Spark Gas Club Car
And if it still doesn't have spark after testing what meimk said... it's a bad coil, or spark plug boot.

Re: No Spark Gas Club Car
I got a wiring diagram and it looks like 2 things that I had not considered can cause no spark. One section of the ignition switch can short causing coil to be grounded. Also the "Kill Switch" can short causing the coil to be grounded. Attaching the diagram and a copy of a trouble shooting procedure I found. The cart is at a shop from getting the coil replaced, old man can't get down in that position, will pick it up tomorrow and continue trouble shooting from these tips.
