thats a 95-96 metalist.. but its the same mechanics, engine and frame from 95 to recent carts.
There are tonnes of aftermarket goodies that will work on that cart, plus you can change the body style to the newer txt type, or even put on custom body parts on.

Seeing that your in ontario area, that would be a resonable price for that cart, maby you can work him down a fiew hundred. but at any rate it looks like a well maintained cart. (they are much more expensive up in our area then most places in north america for those who dont know). if that older man had that for a long while, i would assume that it hasnt been beaten on. Looks like hes taken care of it.

When you go to check it out, the last two numbers of the mfg code is the year. and the tag is located in the passenger side golve box

Should I be concerned that he is selling it as an 04?

Newbie question:
What makes this an 95 - 96 model?

Well when you go to look at it and read off the mfg code, you should tell him what year it really is, then renegotiate a price if hes negotiable, but it does seem like hes not for certian about the year. The only factor with it being older is engine wear, those are great little engines, but do wear down if they have alot of use. If its been in private hands all its life, then that engine should still run like a top. But if its seen the course every day for a good ammount of time, i would be slightly concerned with worn out valves, and oil burning.

The body style, that body style with the black trim around the edge is called the medalist series (from around 95-96+) (the years between 96-98 ezgo had a mixture of the two), newer ezgo carts, around 98 and newer were called the txt and had a solid plastic body around the whole cart. But everything else about the carts are exactly the same, drive train, frame, most linkages, so all of the aftermarket parts such as lift kits will fit. With the exception that in 01 they changed the steering setup, but thats why when looking at lift kits they specalize in ones for carts up to 2001 and after 2001.
