Default Yamaha G1 low speed question.

Im very much a golf cart newbie. I purchased a G1 a couple of months ago and so far have done the muffler BBQ, new filter, disabled the oil injection and screwed the guvenor screw all the way in. When i got it, the throttle cable end was broken on the peddle end, so i fixed that by using a bolt with 2 nuts and capturing it on the bracket on the pedal. Has worked great but it does not want to drive at low speeds. it has good top end speed but once you press the pedal, it just keeps going till it reaches higher speed. If you want to go slow, you have to keep feathering the gas pedal. Is this normal, do i have the throttle cable pulled too tight or is this just the results of diableing the govenor?.

Welcome to BGW!

I would have to say the cable is the problem. Maybe be you can adjust/move the switch at the pedal.

You might be able to adjust the rod between the bellcrank & carb also. My friend Glen has this exact same problem and is working thru it right now. Keep ya posted
