Default Steering issues

I have an 87 marathon and took it out after bbqing muffller and added all new belts. I noticed that the steering wheel has to be turned left slightly for the thing to go straight. Do I need to take steering wheel off and put it back on or is there another type of adjustment that needs to be done?

geary you can place the steering wheel in the proper position (straight ahead) then adjust the tie rods in or out to aline the wheels straight. Keep in mind your going to have to maintain the proper toe of the tires after doing this. 1/16 - 1/8 toe in OK you may have to take it for a ride them readjust some more untill you get it where you want it. Before you ask use a tape measure mark a tire tread on both tires all of the way around then measure across the front then across the rear side to side. Front will be the shorter measurement. Hope this helps.

if your current alghnment is good, ie toe set, then the simplest thing to do is just pull the steering wheel and reposition it. it will work the same and no ground crawling. this an older guys fix.

I will try and remove steering wheel first since everything else seems ok. If not I will do the other method.

Thanks for the info!
