Default EZ Go 2 stroke gas has NO power

Just bought a 1985 gas 2 stroke EZ Go. When i push on the gas it has NO power even at full throttle. Carbuerator has 2 vaccuum lines. One is capped off & the other one is not hooked up. Where do these vaccuum lines go? One line is larger than the other. If anyone has a diagram of the carbuerator i would like to see it. Thank you

Hello Richard and welcome to the forum, herein you will find the font of all knowledge. Your problem is not unusual and in all probability you just need to dismantle your carburetor and clean it (although you should realize that spraying carb cleaner into the air intake will not suffice). You will need to remove the bowl and as you will see the nut that holds the bowl on is actually the main jet so ensure it is very clean. Now look up into the carburetor and you see the main nozzle which needs to be unscrewed and cleaned. Then from the top you unwind the slow run jet and clean that. Having done that I like to let all the parts sit in cleaner overnight before reassembly. Of course another option is to just buy a new BV 18 carburetor for ~ $100. If all the bushes in your carburetor are worn then no amount to cleaning will stop the air leaks.

The line that is capped is probably the oil feed that someone has removed. If so it goes to the elbow behind the carburetor. Is that correct? The line that goes nowhere is the breather for the fuel bowl. This allows air into the bowl as the fuel level falls, if this line is blocked the engine will stall out.

Finally here is your picture, if I can be any further help shout out.

Dave
