Default New Wheels Question - Scotty...can you beam me up?

Guys, getting some new wheels and tires for my 96EZGO TXT. I have a lifted cart and have 8" alumin wheels with Duro Mud Buster 22-11-8 tires.

I'm looking at some Vision 12" wheels 21-10.5-12 in more of a turf tire.

Folks are telling me these bigger rims will be lighter and cause no issues with the rear engine or torque. Scotty / Others, can you confirm I won't cause any other issues by moving to 12" wheels.

Thanks in advance guys for your input!

Your overall tire diameter is decreasing by 1 inch, so you will lose a bit of top speed and gain a bit of torque. As for the wheel/tire package, it comes down to weight. The 12" wheels will have more metal but less tire weight. Unfortunately there is no weight database on wheel/tire combos, you would have to weigh them yourself. So many variables, difficult to predict the outcome.

The 12 inch tires will be lighter than the 8 inch tires. The 12 inch wheels will be heavier depending on style of wheels ,but the 12 wheel combo will most likely be lighter because of all the extra rubber you will be ditching from the 8 inch. Did I say that right ?
