Re: Yamaha golf cart backfired then wont start
Yeah, backfired as it ran out of fuel. Spray some carb clean into carb, then crank it up, bet it will start.

Re: Yamaha golf cart backfired then wont start
has it always needed the choke, or just since it backfired??

Re: Yamaha golf cart backfired then wont start
Clean carb & check fuel flow through pump. The carb-cleaner just verified you have a lack-of-fuel problem. Probably just a funked up dirty carb.

Re: Yamaha golf cart backfired then wont start
thanx I did remove carb ,cleaned and ensured all ports were clear.I am wondering if it may be the fuel pump itself ,it does deliver fuel but not sure what the flow rate should be coming from it.I do work on small engines at a go kart track but they are gravity fed..

Re: Yamaha golf cart backfired then wont start
Pull the fueline off that goes from the fuel pump to the carb. Put the hose in a ziplock bag or watet bottle and press the pedal. Should pump a nice steady flow
