2008 ez go pds
I am have a friend with a cart having an issue with losing power. I can flip the tow run switch back and forth and it will start working again but then it will quit. When it does run it goes really slow. Any suggestions on where to start? Stock controller. With heavy duty solenoid.

There should be instructions on the controller cover under the seat on how to put the cart in diagnostic mode, then there also should be a list of what each trouble code means.
Ive also attached a photo of what is on that label. |

Guessing its a PDS, sounds like speed sensor but an expert will jump in pretty quicl and point you in the right direction. Use that pic above and see if you get a 1-3 beep

I was also thinking speed sensor for it running slow but wasn’t sure about why it’s not moving sometimes.

Re: 2008 ez go pds
I picked up my buddies cart yesterday and noticed it has a 48 volt motor on it. Will a 48 volt motor work on a 36 volt cart? Also will a 36volt speed sensor work on the 48 volt motor. I brought it to work today to try and get this thing going. Thanks for all the replies so far.

Re: 2008 ez go pds
Yes, but not as fast or as powerful.
Sounds like your friend has 2008 PDS with an upgraded drive system. You sure the six batteries are 6V? (How many filler caps on them) Whether the speed sensor and magnet disc will fit depends on the motor. Pictures of battery pack, motor and controller would help us figure out what the drive system is. |
