In Ocala you a). Buy insurance b). Send the city a check for $35 and c). city sends sticker and you photograph it on the cart and send that photo back.

WKUWIZ, so there's no inspection?... Is that an LSV designation so you then get a tag? If so, I will have to send my info to Ocala!!!

I'm guessing it's a neighborhood/community/city permit?

-- edit --
I looked up Ocala's website and it's specifically for the city of Ocala. Not to register a cart as a LSV with a license plate, title, etc.

I went to tampa and did my inspection and long with all my paperwork and they took a bunch of money and handed me a title.

What insurance company are you using for your registered golf cart in FL? I just found out progressive doesn't cover registered golf carts but does if it's not registered. Go figure.

I use Allstate. About $125 a year.

Yes BronsonJ: As for registration, yes, it's only to "help recover in case of theft". City Council declared a golf cart zone and designated specific roadways in a tight neighborhood. SO naturally they have to find a way to install a tax.

Yet, we love it! My wife and I drive the 2 miles to downtown for dinner and refreshments, parking at City Hall. We enjoy learning all the blocks at a slow speed.
