Power wise convert to ab 50 plug
I am wanting to put an ab 50 plug on a power wise charger. The charger has three wires and the sb50 connector just takes two, any suggestions. Thanks

thanks Andy, then I guess the red wire is just another ground from what I understand. will the charger still act as a smart charger?

Re: Power wise convert to ab 50 plug
The red wire is a safety wire.
On a full functional Power Wise charger it tells the golf cart that the charger is plug in and it can't move. With out it your kids can jump on the cart and drive off with it charging hooked up as you want it with the SB connector. |

Re: Power wise convert to ab 50 plug
Bubba, hopefully you read this before you cut the red wire off.
The red wire is what turns on the charger (Battery sense wire to the control board) Either connect it to the negative terminal along with the black wire or if you have already cut if off, open the charger and connect it to the center tap of the transformer. That is assuming you have a Powerwise (Model 28115) charger like the on in the attached picture. The wire may connect to a different spot in other model Powerwise chargers. |

Re: Power wise convert to ab 50 plug
haven't cut it yet so I will connect it to the black wire, and I don't have to change anything inside correct?
