Default Replaced controller now brakes acting funny

I replaced my controller that was a 4 post with one that was a 3 post, according to what I read the A2 post is optional and that the cable coming there could just be insulated. But now when I go to drive the cart things are fine until I hit the break and the break locks up and immediately halts the cart way too aggressively. Please advise

Unrelated problems. Look for loose or broken suspension allowing rear differential to rotate under brake pressure.
