91 Marathon possible bad controller
Just picked up cart and working through getting able to run. Had a couple bad microswitches and now have the solenoid operating. I have pack voltage on both sides of the solenoid. Pack voltage on B- and M-, does not drop at all when pedal is pressed. Sounds like the controller is sizzling, does in either F or R. Checked F&R switch with wires off and continuity is good. Pot ohms from 0-6.5K. No movement of the wheels, rear is jacked up in the air. Am I right to go after the controller?

Re: 91 Marathon possible bad controller
Pot ohms up to 6.5K is a bit high and might be bumping the upper limit (safety shutdown is at about 7k), but should be okay at partial pedal.
Pull the black and white wires coming from the pot off the controller and clip a 1KΩ resistor on the throttle input pins. That will tell the controller to go to a 20% output. If still no-go, on the F/R switch assembly, connect the A stud to the D stud and the B stud to the C stud. If that doesn't get the wheels to turn, it is most likely the controller. |
