Default Issue with XCT500PDS

Good afternoon BGW!!

I purchased a 2001 EZGO PDS that I have been restoring and bringing it back to new. I purchased a XCT500PDS controller and Heavy Duty Solenoid from Scottyb. Today I installed it along with the complete 2 gauge wiring kit to my stock motor PDS following all directions to the dot. As I finished I was extremely excited to test it for the first time! I put it in forward and attempted to go however the cart seemed to be going forward at a very slow speed almost as if it was the 1/2 speed reverse but in the "forward" mode. And when I switched it in reverse, I almost flew through my acrylic widshield!! How do I correct this problem? Thank you in advance for all of your help and guidance!

Try Swapping the motor F1 and F2 (10g) wires at the controller.

I did that and all it did was swap the switch so reverse went forward and forward went reverse. No change in the actual speed/power. Reverse was still more powerful/faster than forward

Scottyb I only switched the wires around at the controller not at the actual motor. Should I leave the controller F1 and F2 as it states in the directions and swap the F1 and F2 wires located on the motor?

I don't think that is going to make much difference. That is just opposite ends of the same wires, So same as switching them at the controller.
Double check that you have all of the plug in connectors lined up correctly and all of the plug in connector retainer clips are lining up with the clip on the controller side.

Everything looks good and tight. I don't have a plug for the C5 slot. Am I supposed to have something there?

Me too.
Motor speed sensor wires plug in C5.
Why do you not have a motor speed sensor harness?

If you do not have one.
Program the controller to not monitor rpm.

Sorry Scotty... Noob mistake... I plugged the speed sensor into C4. All works perfect now! Thank you and I apologize for the confusion
