Default Turn signal/brake light install

I’m installing turn signals and brake lights to my 09 ccp. I took the dash off to plug the signal harness and realized I needed another harness. I didn’t have an empty 9pin plug. The only 9pin was the wires with the key switch and code plug. I remembered I had another set of wiring harnesses that came with my headlight kit. It had a 12pin for the main, 6pin for the headlight and the 9pin for the signals.
When I plugged them together the pass tail light came on?? Nothing was turned on and that’s the only light that came on. When I turned the light on everything else worked like it should, driver side signals and the front pass signal. The gray relay wires were also connected.
Also I connected my time delay brake kit per the instructions and I’m getting nothing. I’m fairly new to the cart world. I hope this makes enough sense for some assistance. Thank you!

Which specific brand of light kit are you installing? I know some Precedents are prewired for lights while others are not.

I just figured out after testing connections from two different bucket harnesses that the pass tail light only comes on when the turn signal harness is connected. Any other time all lights work correctly with the pull switch. But as soon as I plug the 9pin signal harness just the pass tail light comes on. Does that sound like the signal switch is bad or something else?

Does your cart have the bucket harness installed from the factory?

If that is the 12pin harness running to the batteries and tail lights, yes.

I'm not real familiar with the Precedents, but I believe the bucket harness should be a square, 9 pin connector. Do you have one of those?

Ok

It may now just be a matter of going wire by wire and figuring out what goes where then connecting things up. Write down the color of the wire and where it goes (i.e. left rear taillight ground) then connect the applicable wire from the harness to that. You can either do away with all the plugs and splice the wires directly, or of course integrate the plugs into the system.
