Default Re: Replace reg 30w with Synthetic in differential

Been reading this post and I hope you gys can help make something clear for me. There is only lube in the differential and not in the axle housing right? The rear diff lube can/will end up in the axle housing correct? I guess what I am saying is that there is only one place to add/change oil

And for synthetic motor oil. I know what Valvolines web site says, but I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica that I always used conventional oil in and never had an oil leak. Changed to Mobil 1 synthetic at 108K miles and developed a leak. Could be a coincidence, don't know.

I switched out the motor oil in my 2001 Yamaha V-Star Classic from conventional to a synthetic and it made a huge difference. Runs quieter and you feel less vibration. It only had 12,000 miles on it when I changed it; it hasn't developed any leaks.

I have several friends that sell Amsoil and swear by it, but I am not quiet ready to drink the Kool Aid on that stuff!!
