Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
If you have correct PB-6 unit ( RATHER THAN PB-5 WITH NO MICRO ) it will have a ( micro switch with 3 leads ) Com-NO-NC "PLUS" the 3 wire leads ( In Loom ) connected to potentiometer.

Hey MEC,how are you??Got the pb6 from East Coast just now getting time to dive in.The micro wiring is no problem, the multi step pot box has 3 leads in a plug to the controller, purple, yellow wblk stripe, white with blk stripe.PB6 is a 2 wire black and one white.test procedure for the pot box is purple and yellow 0-5k,so I'm thinking they would be the 2 the blk and wht from the pb6 should connect to.???Dave |

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
Read a little more, purple is constant 5v signal to potentiometer, yellow w blk voltage input 3.5 volts pedal up to 0v,and white w blk completes negitive voltage circut through pot. Dave

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
Having never wired a Regen stock controller to PB-6 SO Im only guessing but feel that you are correct as output should be across Black ( moveable contact ) and White lead. Looked at Curtis PB-6 diagram which shows Green NOT BEING USED on following Curtis controllers. Models 1209B, 1221B, 1231C.

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
Well I hope someone has done it,I hate to shoot in the dark like this,I'm thinking make up a test harness and put the batts back in to test before I go thru all the crap to mount it .and then find out it isn't going to work.Dave

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't the 2001 regens use a 5k-0 input? The PB-6 unit you bought will be reading 0-5k (unless you bought a modified unit specifically for this cart).

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
Rabbit,I call it a 2001 cause usually everyone tells me I don't have what I have,it's a 2000 DCS 48V regen, factory it had a 0-5k muti step pot box, this cart I rebuilt after a saltwater swim and after everyone told me not too.The reason for this change is a choppy throttle at low speed.Dave

Re: pb6 into 2001 regen
I thought about this last night and came to the same conclusion that RABBITREBORN came to, that originally the cart should have come with 5K-0 ohms pot and controller?
To confirm your white black leads set your meter to ohms and you should see 0-5K ohms on PB-6 from at rest ( 0 ) to wide open on lever ( 5K ). Then you must confirm what controller you have so it will match the PB-6. |
