1999 Club Cart Problem

I have a 99 Club Cart 48V, I bought my neighbors batteries that where about a year old of his cart, he was running 48v batteries on a 36v cart. Well we put them on and things where fine the first day, then it wouldn't go forward only reverse, we let it sit for awhile and it start back going forward, it did that off and on for couple of days and now it will only go in reverse, when you push the pedal to go forward you hear it click, just want move.

Upgrades--lift and 2 gauge wires approx 1 year ago.

Need more info is cart SERIES ( lever under right leg, or REGEN ( rocker type switch under right leg ) they are different in control and wiring so need info for forum to be able to help out?
ALSO have you checked each replacement battery for condition and charge and if so what was your readings?

OM; if I had to guess and this is just an opionion because you have worked on many more than me do you think it could be f-r switch and s-noid on 36-volt not being stout enough to handle 46-volts?

I'd definitely check out the contacts on the F&R Switch... it sounds like one of them may be burnt.

Maybe this could be a quick fix,Try spraying down the switch with wd-40 as it may need it.Work the switch back and forth and if that does not work then it could be something else.

Batteries checked good, I took the switch of and noticed on the passenger side where the lead bolts up it is melted and burnt, I fooled with it and cleaned on it and got it to go forward once, but has stoped again, I guess I need a new switch. Thanks for all the help.

See about getting the old 36v F&R or HD 48v F&R. They are about equal when it comes to high amp duty. You have to customize the 36 to hold 3 micros.... takes a little creative work....

Not on the newer ones.... All you've gotta do is use the longer bolts from the original F&R... The Cam on the 36V F&R will work great with 3 micros. Ever since Club Car came out with their "PowerTorque" kit for the 48V car which includes this switch, the cam has been like this.
