Default Is there any need for me to upgrade my cables?

I have a stock 2010 Club Car Precedent. It is the signature edition with 10 inch tires. it is set on speed 4 which I believe gets me about 19 mph. I don't intend to add a lift kit or larger tires or bigger motor. Will I see any increase in performance by upgrading to 4 ga. cables? If so, what will I notice or how will the upgrade enhance the cart if at all. The local club car dealer said there was no need to upgrade. I would appreciate some insight from the experienced guys on this forum. Thanks.

Run it a while and feel the cables. If they are hot that is a sign that they are in need of replacement.

you should notice a difference in available torque. you won't gain any speed, but you will get to 19 faster/with more authority. less bog going up hills, etc.

If you are running the stock controller, 250 amp Curtis like I have then you will not see any noticeable gains. Even with a PQ motor and stock controller I didn't notice any gains, (installed 4 gauge wires long after installing the PQ motor.) But if you are even considering doing a controller change down the road then I would go to a 2 gauge wire set that will work with your OBC... they're made by ScottyB/Carts Unlimited.

Thanks for the help guys. I am not going to to any mods so I will keep everything stock until its time to replace something and then think about upgrading. I checked the cables after running a bit and they aren't hot at all. Not even very warm to touch so everything seems fine.
