Does not look that bad. Do you have the front body? Check the frame under the battery area some of them get rusted out bad and can break there. The rest looks solid, the seats can always go bad from weather. The front bumper you could kick and bend it. I'd try to get it running. The clutch is a problem, either you rebuild it or find a used for parts, or get an aftermarket. Depends on what you want to do with the cart. I bought a used on ebay last year and rebuilt one for a friend. The guy rebuilt it and it wore a hole in the sheave. I had a good sheave, so I put all his new parts on the sheave even the new center bushing and seals lol. It worked great when done. It was not that cheap to buy that bad clutch either, but way cheaper than all the parts I got. I also needed a cover and don't think you can get them, they spilled battery acid on it and put hole in it. This way I got another cover.

Looks like a G2. Good cart to work with --- parts still available and lots of expertise on this forum.

So today I installed a new battery and finally got a key for my kart. After I got the battey on I filled it with gas and turned the key and hit the gas pedal...... Slowly things started to work but that is about all i got. What is left of the clutch started spinning slowly but that is about it. It sunds like what I got was more electrical than anything.

Anybody have any idea what my next step should be with this thing??

You should clean the carb. Check all the wires positive and ground, as there is no frame ground on these. Wiring issues are very common the connections degrade after oh 25 years. But cheap and relatively easy to fix. It should turn over like a starter on a lawnmower.

I thought I might start by replaceing all the fuel lines since they all pretty much crumbled in my hand when I touched them. The carb is next but i'm not sure it is even getting gas.

So I am going to take this as a good sign. I sprayed carb cleaner in the carb and the darn thing started right up. Now just have to figure our fuel issue.

These things are built like tanks. Sure put new lines on then run the carb hose into a bottle, crank it and it should spurt out gas on the starter. If it does you are good unless the carb is dirty. Note the pulse pumps are not that good at sucking air, so if the tank is low they have a hard time priming (cause then it is uphill) and you wont get fuel. Fill it up or you can very carefully put just a little air pressure in the tank until fuel comes out the carb hose. Don't blow the tank up what ever you do, just a couple pounds is all you need. One crack in the hose can kill the prime for the pump too.

My cart had set 3 years, I changed all the gas and vac. lines, fuel filter cleaned the carb and the tank put fresh gas in and just primed it with a little bottle of gas dripping in the top of carb until it ran good.
It all needs to be done at one time to keep the system clean.
