Gas Guage
Does anyone have a gas guage on their cart? I see one on the Yamaha parts diagram. Part Number 8. See link
http://www.yamahagolfcar.com/partsan.../default.aspx# On my cart there looks to be a cut out/punch out for this to be installed. |

Re: Gas Guage
My G1 has a guage but the plastic has yellowed making it hard to see the indicator. It still functions despite being 28 years old.

Re: Gas Guage
My G9 also has it, and it's too cloudy to read. I tried cleaning it with toothpaste and now I can read the E and F but not the level indicator.
I've been using a yardstick to guesstimate, but I'm getting tired of walking home after running out of gas. I'm ordering a replacement. |

Re: Gas Guage
The simplest ones are just a replacement cap for the gas tank with a float and mechanical gage. (I put one on my G16). These are quite effective and it's not a big deal to lift the seat to see gas level. Takes less than a minute to install and are trouble free. Hope this helps - RAY

Re: Gas Guage
I am think of ordering that gas guage. I need to cut out or punch out that hole. Do you think my only option is to remove the tank so I dont get any plastic inside my gas. If I do it while it is installed I guess my fuel filter will catch it.
