Re: Do i need to upgrade anything?
Thugs? I don't know about Scotty, but I've been called worse.
@ mfbab: With 23" tires, you will eventually be replacing everything. The strongest stock component is the motor, so it will probably be the last thing to go belly up. You didn't mention year, body style or drive type, but whatever it is, all the high current cable need to be 4Ga or heavier, the controller needs to be 400A or more and the solenoid needs to match the controller. If it has a series wound motor, the F/R switch needs to be upgraded to the HD type to handle the amps needed to turn those tall tires. The trick is to figure out what the end item is going to be and build towards that goal. Some things to be consider are: What will the cart be used for? How many people are going to be carried? How fast do you want to go? What is the terrain like? What kind of Run-Time is desired? Hope this helps. |

Re: Do i need to upgrade anything?
its a 1993 ezgo marathon. I have stock everything. I guess i will get cables first. Then what would be my next step? The terrian is mostly flat stone roads some hills. I use it at a campground so I take 3 or 4 people and run it around pretty much. I dont care how fast it goes just want to be able to drive anywhere though. thanks for your help.

Re: Do i need to upgrade anything?
You have a series controller cart
You should do the cables and F&R replacement in one shot. This completes the amperage delivery system... Kinda like laying the pipe for the bigger flow. |

Re: Do i need to upgrade anything?
I was looking for 4 gauge cable sets and most of them are for the batteries only. Is that fine or do I need cables that run to motor and everything? And the F\R switch just needs to be HD? thanks again.

Re: Do i need to upgrade anything?
You will need the complete set. You will have a bottleneck when the current hits those smaller wires.
