Default Re: Need advice on cart battery charging?

When i bought my cart ( last winter ) I was told to charge the cart in tow mode, and to also always store the cart in tow mode, not run mode.

I was also told to re-charge the cart after every use.

I was also told that it is best to leave the cart hooked up to the charger at all times when not in use as this helps to keep the batteries maintained.

I too would like to hear if I'm charging correctly.

no need to switch the run/tow toggle to charge. sounds like two weak batteries ... do the low ones have accessories attached to them? If so maybe relocate them? 2 low batteries would not be a typical charger problem....

We had problems with the power reducer early this year, so I removed it and run an accessory 12 volt battery now. I have a dial guage for volt meter if you know what I mean and it always have fluctuated when under load, does anyone else have this type of guage?

That is an analogue gauge and they were popular on the earlier carts....

The CHG section indicates full charge and also were the meter pointer should be when you are charging. The red on the right side indicates that the charger voltage is abnormally high.

I read on the internet that there is a product out there you can get at your local drugstore/walmart that when added to your old 8 volt batteries.. it will restore them to almost new again. Has anyone out there heard of this and what would you need to buy to do this with? tinkerman
